Fofita 4/15/24

Holaa todos! It's me again! I'm sure you've all just been dying to hear from me since my last email so let's get right to it ;)

Some highlights from this week:

Thursday night I got to have makeshift intercambios with Hermana Fernandes en Chacabuco!! It was so fun to remember all of our adventures in Santa Rosa! Plus this time we could actually communicate.

Me and Hermana Pinar went and got some milanesa sandwiches from a kinda sketchy house/restaurant, but they were actually fuego and super cheap, I highly recommend!

Hung out with a bunch of the hermanas while we waited to meet our hijas!🫶

GOT MY HIJA!! Her name's Hermana Huaraca and she's from Peru! She's actually the sweetest ever and is just the cutest little capa! 🥰

We had quite the adventure on our first day that included:

  • missing our colectivo (I promise it wasn't our fault)

  • having to wait in the terminal with our 6 huge suitcases for more than 3 hours

  • getting told I'm not a child of God by a random crazy man😥

  • meeting a “prophet” who apparently saw me on TV once, and told me I need to learn how to listen

There were 6 misioneras at church on Sunday!! Sadly it was the first and last time for a while, because Mia and Lola left to go to the MTC today!

Also shoutout to Hermana Silva! The hija of Hermana Pinar! She's from Brazil and might just be the happiest person I've ever met. She taught us the word fofita in portuguese which means cute and it just sums her up perfectly!

Said goodbye to Mia and Lola😭 they're seriously gonna be THE BEST missionaries, but San Fran's not gonna be the same without them!

After a longg day of planning we went out in the rain to go visit a few people!

Overall a crazy, good start to what I'm sure is gonna be a crazy good transfer! I'm so excited to get to live in 4 again, it really is the best! Especially when 2 of them are so brand new and full of energy! Plus my spanish has already started to get soo much better since it's my first transfer without a comp that speaks English! Now we just need to find a place in our tiny pension to put all of our crap…

Training a new missionary has really made me think about the mission and why we're here. It's so easy for things to just become routine. As time goes on, we get used to the hard parts, waking up early, walking long distances, being far from our families, homes, friends, and good food. But we also start to get used to the good things. We see so many miracles every day that it's easy to take them for granted. But it's been so fun to be able to recognize and find joy in all of the little things again! And it's the same with life outside of the mission too, we get so caught up in the to-do lists we don't take the time to remember and appreciate why we're doing it. There are miracles all around us, we just need to look for them!!

Love you all so much! Make this week great and take the time to appreciate the little miracles every day!!
