Hola!! These last few weeks have flown by!
I HIT 9 MONTHS!! I still can't believe that I'm halfway done, somehow it feels like I've been here for ages and like I just got here yesterday. But I am seriously so grateful for the mission, I have learned more, and met more amazing people than I ever imagined I would! And I can't wait for the next 9 months!
Anyways, it's been a minute and all the weeks blur together so here's some quick recaps from the last little bit!
Zone conference!!
Federico and Deniss invited us over for lunch last minute!! They've become our parents here in Sion
Pray for their papers to come in so they can get married and Federico can get baptized!
We're blessed to have a bunch of hermanas ready to help us!
ANGELO GOT BAPTISED!!
Angelo is good friends with a couple of members in the ward!! One of them gave him a Book of Mormon a few years ago (Diego), and the other is serving a mission in Chile right now (Elder Carvalho)! Right before transfers the elders started talking to him at his work, and he told them about his friend on the mission! They had one lesson with him and then got shipped off to other areas
We got here and coordinated a lesson with Angelo and the family of Elder Carvahlo, who then asked permission to participate in the lesson through video call! Elder Carvalho invited him with a fuego testimony to get baptized and he said yes!!
Fast forward 2 weeks, a whole lot of lessons with the Carvalho family, and a whole lot of prayers, Diego, the friend who first gave him the Book of Mormon, was able to baptize him!!
Today we met up to eat with the district!
If these last few weeks have taught me anything, it's that God really does have a plan for us. I have seen so many miracles, big and small, and have learned that faith really can move mountains!
One quick example:
Today we went to the terminal to buy tickets to have intercambios this week. Long story short, just about everything went wrong. When we finally figured it all out, we went to the bus stop to go back to our area and waited for the bus to come. And waited, and waited, and waited. I was getting frustrated because I just wanted to go work, and there are only so many people to message
After a good 45 minutes, the bus finally shows up, we get on and start our 30 minute bus ride home. After a few minutes another lady got on, but had forgotten her bus pass. We offered to pay for her, and she was able to get on and ride home! As small and simple as that was, the thought came to me, “if we weren't on this bus right now, we wouldn't have been able to serve her”. I really do know that God knows and loves us, and that if we look for Him, we can find him in every part of our lives!
Love and miss you all!! Have a great week!
