llamados a servir 8/26/24
Some highlights from this week!:
Yesterday we went to look for a gray point named Veronica. She was sitting outside on her porch, and we couldn't even say anything to her before she stood up, told us to come in and got us some water. She’s super catholic, and one of the nicest people I've met!
☆ Sunday after church we got a text from President Zanni, it turns out Carson is serving in his brother's ward in San Juan! The world really is so small!
☆ Today we decided hiking in our area every day wasn't enough and went to hike to the cross! It was actually so fun 10/10 would recommend!
This was one of those weeks when it feels like nothing you do works out the way you want it to. On Friday I was exhausted, it feIt like no one was really progressing and I didn't know what to do. I realized I had been relying a lot upon my own abilities, at this point in the mission I know how to do almost everything. I can plan a good day pretty quickly, teach a good lesson, and walk all over without breaking a sweat. But at some point along the way I had forgotten that it doesn't matter how good the plans are or how much you walk if it's not what the spirit is telling you to do.
I humbled myself, told God that I would do whatever He tells me to, and went to work. We started talking to literally everyone. Got a whole lot of rejection, but ended up finding a few people with potential. And through it all, I found more joy in the work than I've had in a while!
On Saturday I felt impressed to invite Ester to think about Christ’s atonement during the sacrament. To really focus on His sacrifice, and how she has felt his presence in her life. On Sunday after church she told us that she did what we told her, and that she had felt something she had never experienced before.
That's why I'm here, to help others have these experiences. To feel and recognize the spirit and to access the healing power of the Atonement.
So this week I'm giving each of you the invitation I gave to Ester. When you take the Sacrament on Sunday, focus on Christ. Think of your favorite story of Him, about a time you've felt his love, and especially about the sacrifice he made for you. Ask yourself if you are using that sacrifice in your life, and if not, commit to start and do it now. There really is nothing better!
Love you all so much!! I'd love to hear from you! Send me an update on your life!
