Hola, hasta luego 11/11/24

One day this week we were knocking doors. After knocking one and waiting for a solid minute, we were about to leave when we heard someone coming. This old man opens the door and yells “HOLA, HASTA LUEGO”, and goes to shut the door in our face but for some reason he hesitated. We just smile and say hola, then he proceeded to pound on the Bible he brought with him, yelling “this is my religion” and then told us to have a blessed day very aggressively and closed the door. I'd give him a solid 7 out of 10.

Some highlights from the week:

☆ Sunday we got to have lunch with a family from the ward! One of the best asados I've eaten ðŸ¤¤

☆Hna Smith trying out some new inserts for her shoes🤩

☆ Yesterday it started to pour on us. We got drenched, but luckily our friend Agueda let us come inside and teach her! Then we had to go running to our next lesson. It was like a game of the floor is lava trying not to step in the river that had formed in the street😅

We've had a very sad streak of not having any friends in church the last few weeks. I've been praying real hard that we'd find people willing to keep their commitments. Saturday morning we decided to visit this gray point. I looked at where the point was on the map and we started walking. After like 5 minutes, I pulled out the phone again and realized that we had been walking in the completely wrong direction.

Very confused, we turned around and started walking back. And after a few minutes I pulled out the phone again, only to find that we were still going the wrong way. Oncativo is actually tiny, like we can walk all across town in less than 30 minutes, so getting lost is actually quite an impressive feat.

Deciding that there must be someone re elegido waiting for us to find them, we knocked on the door right in front of us, and found out that the lady who lived there had gone to church before, so I was thinking, this is it! We're here for her! But then she told us that she's not interested at all ðŸ«

As we kept walking down the street, we saw this dude outside playing with his little kid, and started to talk to him. He told us that his girlfriend was inside the house, so we asked if we could go in to share something with them, he said yes!! We talked about the sacrament and invited them to come have a tour of the chapel that afternoon, and they said yes! They came and loved it and said that they'd come to church the next day! And they came!!!

It really helped me to see that God's in all the details. We're all humans, we make mistakes and sometimes get a little lost. But He can take our best, imperfect, efforts and make them something miraculous!

Love you all!! Make this week the best!
