Amo Cordoba 10/30/23

I'M IN ARGENTINA!! I left Mexico at 5 am on Thursday, and finally made it to my area on Saturday at 10 am! So there were a few longg travel days 😴 yesterday I had to fight hard to keep my eyes open all day long, but overall I've loved it so far!! I could probably write a whole book about this week, but I'll try to keep this short!

Some highlights/photos:

  • This week was filled with soo many goodbyes and last times, which was so sad! For a while I felt like I'd never leave the CCM but the next thing I knew I was on a plane to Argentina! But I'm so grateful for all of the people I met in Mexico, they really did become my second family!!

  • Hna Trejo 🩷

  • Our walks with the elders🤠

  • Hna Karren 😭 this goodbye was definitely the hardest, I'm seriously so grateful for her! She set the bar real high for the rest of my comps. But I know she's gonna kill it in Chile!!!

  • Now for the part I know you've all been waiting for, Argentina!! Sorry I've been real bad at taking pictures, but I'll work with what I've got lol

  • I met my cute trainer Hna Gerstner!! She's the best!! Literally everyone we talk to asks if we're actually sisters. Two blonde gringos is quite the sight here

  • I fr got so lucky and got to reap the benefits of Hna Gerstner's hard work and have a BAPTISM on my first day here!!! It was so cool getting to see the joy that comes with the gospel, and to see the results of so many missionaries hard work! Also, how cute is this family 🤩

  • Learning spanish is soo hard but soo good, I know God's been helping me out a lot with that. Speaking is hard, but I can usually understand a decent amount of what people say! (Except for the time yesterday when I asked Hna Gerstner if they were talking about something and she literally couldn't stop laughing because I was so off lol 🙈)

Spiritual thought:

I finished the BOM on Friday morning! Shout out to Elder Ford, he promised our district he'd finish by the time we went to the field, and challenged us to do the same! Even though I had just started reading, I had the strongest feeling that I could do it, so I got reading!! It really was so cool to read it in such a short amount of time and get to connect all of the stories I've known my whole life into one big story. As I was reading in Ether 12, verse 12 really stood out to me:

  • For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith.

This scripture really does apply perfectly to my life at the moment, nothing short of a miracle will allow me to learn Spanish in such a short amount of time, find someone on the street who will get baptized, or even read the BOM in less than a month. None of these miracles can happen if I don't have faith. I know for a fact that God is in the details of our lives, and that through Him, anything is possible. All He asks is that we have faith. We all have things in our lives that seem impossible to do on our own, but I'm here to tell you that you don't have to!! God's always there waiting to show himself unto us if we let him!

Love and miss you all so much!!
