Talk to me please! 1/8/24

Summer Vacation is starting here and it is actually crazy. Centro is always packed, and the rio is full of drunk shirtless men! One day we were walking back at night and there was even more drunk kids out than usual, one kid started yelling at us in English, “where are you from”,“come backk, talk to me pleasee” which we thought was pretty funny

The other hermanas have this friend named Brahian (bryan) who was supposed to get baptized yesterday! They scheduled his interview for Thursday, but they had to go to Córdoba that day so me and my comp went to help him do the interview! The day of the interview, the hermanas message us and say that Brahain doesn't have his phone anymore, so if we see him in public, remind him about the interview. Basically we never see him, and he doesn't show up for the interview. We decide to try and call his phone number to see, and this dude answers and says that he's Brahian’s friend and that he gave him the phone, but he didn’t know where he was. The next couple of days we all went on a hunt for Brahian. Long story short, the dude that has Brahian's phone was also his old roommate, and he robbed him and beat him up. So Brahian was in the hospital, without a phone, a house, and a lot of blood. Obviously he did not get baptized yesterday

Also there's some kind of virus going around, and literally all of our friends got sick. Unfortunately hna pingry and I both got whatever everyone else has, and couldn't leave the pension Saturday or Sunday. Let me tell ya, not being able to leave and go work is actually the worst. 

Saturday night there was a massive storm, luckily because we were dying, me and Hna Pingry weren't outside in it. The other hermanas got soaked, but they got back before the hail started! 

The crazy storm flooded the river and made it impossible for people to get to church, so instead of having sacrament meeting, a bunch of the members sent their testimonies into the ward group chat! It was sad not to get to take the Sacrament, but it was kind of a tender mercy for me to still be able to feel a piece of the spirit that comes from testimony meeting, even when I was feeling like crap!  

Luckily we were able to work a lot earlier this week and had a ton of super good lessons! A lot of people here are really struggling right now. We had a couple lessons this week where at the end, they told us that when we visit them, they can feel the love of God, and that they feel better after we visit them. Which was super cool to hear that the work we're doing is making a difference in people's lives! Each one of you can do the same thing, go visit someone, talk to them, and listen to their stories. Show them that God loves them and that you love them, you don't have to have a tag to share the love of God
