Las matemáticas no están matemáticando 8/13/24

I'm back! Sorry I've been so bad at writing lately, but I'm not gonna say I'll get better because I'm not gonna make promises I can't keep, But these last few weeks were a party! I can't believe how fast time is flying by!

Some highlights:

Ate feijoada (Brazilian food) with the Carvalho family!!

After hours and hours of painting, cutting, and stressing we finished the mural!! Every companionship in the mission was assigned one part to paint, and then we put them all together! I have to admit I was surprised that it turned out. There's some abstract colors, but overall for having a bunch of elders paint I couldn't have asked for much better 😅

Intercambios con Hna Alves!

Had a p-day with all of the hermanas in the mission! I pulled out a w in one of the most intense games of chair soccer I've ever played💪

We made some fun district t-shirts!

We did surprise intercambios with the hermanas in Unquillo, and they don't have a place to stay in their pension so we stayed in the hotel that's owned by a hermana. We got there and she had dinner and breakfast for the next day waiting for us🤩

AMADOR GOT BAPTIZED!! Sion is just so full of surprises, Amador has been going to church for a few months now with his 2 friends, Alex and Tomi, and we had no idea😅 He always went in a white shirt and tie, and in between the 180 active members and all the tourists that come, we never noticed. We found him a few weeks ago when we visited his mom and she told us her son had been going to our church… long story short he was one of the most prepared people I've ever met and accepted the baptismal date without any doubt! Him and his friends are already planning how they’re gonna on the mission together!💪

Did some service and helped Soledad paint her house before she has to move!

Had a family home evening with members, recent converts, and friends!

Transfer news!! I'm staying in Sion and I'm gonna train again!! I'm soo excited! We've got a whole lot of work to do in the area and a whole lot of good things coming! I find out who my comp is tomorrow, so you guys will just have to wait till next week

Some more miracles:

  • Ester decided to look for a new place to live! Right now she's living with her ex so she can't get baptized. Last week out of no where during the lesson she tells us that she has been thinking about baptism, and that she decided she had started looking for a small apartment to move with her granddaughter!! So please pray for her that she can find an apartment soon!!🙏

  • The mom of Amador went to the baptism! We had taught her once before but she wasn't very interested. She recently went through some really hard things, and told us that she's doubting that God exists, or that if he does exist, he doesn't care about her. But she came to the baptism to support Amador and ended up crying almost the whole time! Now we've just got to help her understand that she can have the same peace and joy that her son has found!🫶

  • We went to go visit an inactive family that lives in one of the pueblitos in our area, we asked the dad if there was anyone else we could visit and he pointed at the house next door. Turns out his son’s girlfriend has been reading the Book of Mormon and wants to learn more!

  • Another member told us to visit their friend Caren, she also lives in a little town in our area so it's hard to go there super often. We went a few weeks ago to drop off a Book of Mormon, and when we could finally go visit her again she had already read a good chunk of it! In between the first and second visit, her and her pareja broke up. But she told us that the Book of Mormon helped her to have a different perspective on life, and to not ask “why me”

LOVE YOU ALL!!
